PROVEN POWERTRAIN PERFORMANCE: GORE DIRECT-FIT AND TUBE-MOUNT VENTS
Car driving through high level of water in extreme weather

As packaging constraints push e-drivetrain components closer to the road surface, they are even more vulnerable than traditional powertrains to environmental challenges — road contaminants, extreme weather, submersion — that can threaten component reliability.

Gore’s high-performance powertrain vents provide robust and reliable protection for electrified and traditional powertrain components.

Our vents can help simplify component design and validation. They can also eliminate the need to redesign vent tube routing when using the same drive unit assembly across multiple vehicle configurations or models.

CHOOSE FROM TWO MOUNTING STYLES

Compact direct-fit vents
(AVS 2148 / VE2148)

Gore Direct-Fit auto vent for powertrain component protection

Traditional tube-mount vents
(AVS 41 / VE2048)

Gore Tube-Mount auto vent for powertrain component protection
Gore powertrain vents meet the performance demands of electrified as well as traditional powertrain components

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

For electrified powertrain components

  • e-Axles
  • Oil-cooled e-motors

For traditional powertrain components

  • Transfer cases
  • Power transfer units
  • Solid beam axles
  • Rear/front drive modules
DIFFERENT MOUNTING. SAME BENEFITS.

Gore Direct-Fit compact powertrain vents and traditional Tube-Mount Vents’ high performance and durable protection can help you:

Improve component reliability
The GORE Membrane blocks contaminants that can degrade component performance, while the integrated Pre-Filter protects the Membrane from internal oil aerosols.

Preserve seal integrity
Our breathable GORE Membrane rapidly equalizes pressures, even under extreme operating conditions, to reduce stress on seals.

Meet global OEM standards
Our vents’ performance complies with OEM standards for water wading and fluid containment.

Streamline validation and reduce design cycles
These waterproof vents can eliminate vent-related wading test “fails” and associated engineering redesign time.

PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN TWO MOUNTING STYLES

Gore’s Direct-Fit Powertrain Vent
(AVS 2148 / VE2148)

Cutaway illustration of Gore’s Direct-Fit Powertrain Vent (AVS 2148 / VE2148)
  • Compact, low-profile construction enables more design options, especially for space-constrained e-drivetrain and e-motor applications.
  • Direct-fit (vent mounted directly into component housing) can streamline sourcing, supply and assembly efforts.
  • Easy snap-fit integration to housing

Gore’s Tube-Mount Powertrain Vent
(AVS 41 / VE2048)

Cutaway illustration of Gore’s Tube-Mount Powertrain Vent (AVS 41 / VE2048)
  • Tube-mount “distances” vent from potential exposure to high temperatures or lubricants.
  • Tube format enables more flexibility in routing, especially for traditional powertrain components.
  • Easy integration into existing applications; vent replacement, if required, is easy.
