Our Enterprise Sustainability Update is an expression of our shared promise — Together, improving life — and our long-established values, culture and commitment to Associates, customers and communities. The update presents an overview of our progress driven by our sustainability programs in the 2022 calendar year. It also provides a look at who we are, how we innovate and what we are doing to enhance our social and community impact.
The first plant in 1961 was Paper Mill West in Newark, Delaware (USA).
W. L. Gore & Associates was founded on January 1, 1958, in Newark, Delaware, by Wilbert L. (Bill) and Genevieve (Vieve) Gore.

Bob Gore was (oldest son of Bob and Vieve Gore) fully committed to research and development. This led in 1969 to his discovery of a versatile new polymer form, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) and made him the inventor of the GORE-TEX Technology.

This application note provides data demonstrating high productivity, extended cycling durability performance of membrane-based GORE Protein Capture Devices with Protein A across two rapid Clean-in-Place methods bracketing caustic contact time and concentration. These data were then combined with results from a manufacturing-scale demonstration to extrapolate protein capture capabilities at a 2000 L batch bioreactor size across CIP methods.
