NEWARK, DE USA (January 15, 2025) — At the end of 2024, W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) hosted USMC Colonel Robert Hurst, Program Manager of the V-22 Joint Program Office (PMA-275). Using tiltrotor technology, the V-22 Osprey combines a helicopter's vertical lift capabilities with a fixed-wing aircraft's speed and range. Colonel Hurst engaged the Gore A&D manufacturing associates, highlighting their contributions to keeping the V-22 ready, reliable, and relevant.

Drawing on its materials science and applications engineering experience, Gore’s partnership presently provides the V-22 with SKYFLEX sealants, high-speed data cables, and high-performance aerospace wires. These advanced components enhance the aircraft’s reliability and maintainability while enabling real-time updates in mission-critical scenarios.

“Gore creates the veins of the aircraft,” said Colonel Hurst. “We just want to wrap our plane in your tape and fly home. That’s how much we trust Gore to keep everything together.”

Gore’s products are integrated into the V-22’s global missions, which demand first response in disaster and combat scenarios. With more than 460 aircraft in service worldwide, the V-22 is flown by the U. S. Air Force (CV-22), U.S. Marine Corps (MV-22), and U.S. Navy (CMV-22), as well as the Japan Self-Defense Forces (V-22). Two long-term partners of Gore build the aircraft: Bell in Fort Worth, Texas and Boeing in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania.

During strategic discussions with key Gore associates, Business Development Manager Stacia Paoli, and SKYFLEX Application Engineer Nate Mooney, Colonel Hurst emphasized the increasingly valuable role of the company in considering future upgrades and modifications. Appreciating Gore’s proven track record of delivering on-time, dependable, and innovative solutions, the V-22 team looks forward to continuing its engagement with the company’s scientific and engineering expertise, backed by attentive, dedicated service.
