Shenzhen, China (October 18–19, 2024) - W. L. Gore & Associates (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. made its debut at the 2024 International Summit on Audio Engineering and the 19th anniversary meeting of the Acoustic Block (hereinafter referred to as the "International Audio Industry Summit") with its new acoustic venting solutions GAW348 and GAW350, aiming to explore future trends in the audio industry with its global partners. As a global leader in portable electronic vents, Gore won the "2024 Technology Innovation Award of the Audio Industry" at the event. Mr. Anthony Chiu, Business Leader of Gore Electronics Business Unit Asia Pacific, took center stage to receive the award.
Themed "Build an Acoustic Dream, Co-Shape the Future", this summit pooled together more than 500 well-known international audio brands, a wealth of industrial chain resources, 100-plus global influential experts and scholars, industry leaders, and technical elites, who presented their insights in more than 60 keynote speeches to comprehensively showcase the latest developments in acoustic technologies and the industry! As a global company established for its superior materials technology, Gore also hoped to align with its industrial chain peers at the event to jointly spur on industrial innovation and help consumers to improve their lives. Sophia Zhang, Product Manager at Gore, and Kelvin Wei, Application Engineer at Gore, delivered keynote speeches titled "the new GORE® Acoustic Vents for TWS Earbuds" and "GORE® Acoustic Vent and GORE® Pressure Vent Applications", respectively.

The global shipment of TWS earbuds recorded 255.1 million units from Q2 2023 to Q1 2024, marking a year-on-year increase of 5%. Among these, the global shipment of waterproof TWS earbuds hit 247.6 million units, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%. After shipments increased, it was noted that consumers started to put forward much higher demands on the earbuds, such as enhanced sound quality and fit, smaller size, active noise reduction, as well as longer durability and enhanced reliability. All these demands require that the earbuds have very high performance in terms of water resistance and dust resistance of vents. According to global TWS earbuds trend analysis, water resistance will become a must-have feature of earbuds in the future. This is aligned with Gore's original aspiration for launching its new acoustic vents GAW348 and GAW350. By virtue of their excellent acoustic performance, protection capabilities, and compact size, the products are able to surpass customer needs and expectations and keep the product size miniaturized through innovation to incorporate even more possibilities for earbud design. The GAW348 and GAW350 are reported to have already been successfully adopted in a number of TWS earbuds, recording shipments in the tens of millions thanks to their excellent balance between protection level, size, and sound quality.
As a global leader in portable waterproof and dustproof electronics vents, Gore has devoted itself to the sector for more than 30 years and supplied more than 10 billion units of portable waterproof and dustproof electronic vents to world-leading OEMs, seizing the biggest market share globally.
