Overview
GORE® TENARA® Sewing Thread can improve the performance of outdoor and marine products that demand exceptional seam life and seam integrity. Conventional seam threads can embrittle or break after a few years of exposure to the elements. Only GORE TENARA Sewing Thread durably withstands exposure to sunlight, saltwater, harsh chemicals, pollution and extreme temperatures without fading or deteriorating.
That’s because GORE TENARA thread has a unique ePTFE fiber construction that extends the life of fabric seams — and ultimately, the life of the products in which they are used. Due to its exceptional material properties and use of non-fading pigments rather than dyes, colorfast GORE TENARA Sewing Thread retains its bold appearance over time, even after exposure to harsh cleaning chemicals.
And because this durable thread does not deteriorate — not even after prolonged exposure to UV radiation — it is guaranteed to outlast the fabric in which it is used.

GORE TENARA Sewing Thread is unaffected by acids, alkaline solutions, bleach and cleaning chemicals. Just as important: it will not stain.
As shown, after a red-wine spill, a typical polyester thread absorbed a red stain that couldn’t be removed by cleaning. Compare that to the GORE TENARA Sewing Thread, which cleaned up easily and looks like new.

GORE TENARA Sewing Thread is pigmented — not dyed. Because these non-fading pigments are highly resistant to light, our colorfast threads retain their bold appearance over time. In tests conducted by an independent laboratory*, GORE TENARA Sewing Thread received the highest score possible: a light-fastness rating of 8.
