In the past years, true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds became an integral part of our daily lives. As more and more competitors entered the growing market, consumer’s expectations regarding acoustic quality and durability increased accordingly. When a renowned brand of TWS earbuds experienced a rising number of market returns, they feared a reputation loss they were not willing to take on.
With the results from their analysis, our customer knew they had to tackle the contamination issue at its roots in the manufacturing process. Partnering with Gore, they were able to find an effective solution to solve the matter in the shortest possible time.
Solution
Our engineers quickly understood the customer’s problem and knew how to solve it. They proposed a solution our customer is already relying on in further projects: GORE® MEMS Protective Vents Style 100.
Once our customer agreed to the solution, the real work began. The Gore engineering team closely collaborated with our customer’s design team to create a tailored version for the perfect fit.
With the customized solution at hand, the Gore engineers consulted with our customer’s OEMs and provided local support at their production sites. As each facility has individual processes and needs, our application engineers had to answer various questions and concerns. Nevertheless, their experience proved invaluable, ensuring seamless integration of the MEMS Protective Vent in the production processes.
