White Paper: Cable Particulation Study for Cleanroom Environments
White Papers, United States
Particle generation from cables in cable chains is a complex problem for semiconductor cleanroom environments. As much as possible, system design engineers should reduce the number of moving components and the friction among these components to achieve a low-particulation cable system that will last for tens of millions of cycles.
That’s why W. L. Gore & Associates contracted with the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany to test and measure the particulation levels of GORE® Trackless High Flex Cables and GORE® High Flex Flat Cables. Results revealed that these ISO-certified cables maintained the lowest particulation levels for repeated flexing in cleanroom environments.
